Easy Access Trails

Add your information to this page

Exmoor is great walking country and some of it can be quite challenging. If you enjoy getting out, but need an easy, short walk on flat terrain, then the National Trust has created two easy going marked trails on its Holnicote Estate, which is part of Exmoor. They are ideal for visitors with limited mobility and offer access and views over some of the most beautiful parts of Exmoor.

Three easy access trails exist which have been especially created to give people with limited mobility access to some of the most beautiful parts of Exmoor.

Bossington Hill Easy Access Trail

The Bossington Hill trail, which is laid out over 830 metres on a compacted surface (there is a shorter version as well), goes through heathland and woodland with great coastal views. Follow signs to North Hill from Minehead. It starts at the Bossington Hill car park.

This gentle ramble comprises Birch and Pine woodland, heathland and has stunning coastal views From Minehead follow the signs to North Hill

Webbers Post Easy Access Trail

There are breathtaking views of Dunkery Hill and Horner Wood on the Webber's Post trail. On compacted paths, it is 720 metres long and is lined with wood sculptures carved during the Wood 2004 festival.

Plentiful wildlife and breathtaking views of Dunkery Hill and Horner Woods make this a very interesting trail.

Weir Water Easy Access Trail

Surrounded by moorland in a secluded Exmoor Valley this short route along Weir Water near the popular beauty spot of Robber's Briidge provides access to flat meadows. It is an excellent picnic spot . Access by car from Porlock is by a steep narrow raod; the vehicular approach from Oare is the easiest.

The Exmoor National Park Authority have created the Weir Water Easy Access Trail which is just 150 metres long on a boardwalk near the popular beauty spot of Robber's Bridge. It's also a great picnic spot.
